One decision by the Scottish Government, who is controlled by the SNP, has cost Scotland 1300 construction rail jobs.
That decision was to scrap the construction of the Glasgow Airport Rail Link and has led to the Scottish Government coming under a lot of criticism for its handling of the affair.
Not only does it mean that Glasgow Airport, who fully supported having the Rail Link constructed, having to
function without a major piece of infrastructure which they had been planning to use, but that the construction jobs which would have been created, simply haven’t now.
The Scottish Government has claimed that it scrapped the project to save money; however it thought it perfectly acceptable to plough money into another rail project in an area where the SNP has a lot of political support.
At least there are some jobs in rail coming out of this sorry affair anyway.
