Like everyone else who heard the story, I was amazed and overjoyed to hear about the baby which had survived falling in front of a train.
Praise needs to go mainly to the quick thinking of the train driver, who took evasive action and then leapt from his cabin to go and rescue the toddler, who was found crying but healthy underneath the first carriage.
This story shows how being alert at your rail job, really can save the day.
Wherever we are and whatever we’re doing on the railways, we must all always remain vigilant, because you never know when your jobs in rail could make a difference to someone.
