Preparation is heating up for the Olympics, with revised timetables published today by Southeastern rail.
High speed trains will be diverted to help cope with the increased demand on services in London city centre, and although commuters travelling from Kent will be disadvantaged by these plans, the huge amount of travellers expected next summer require increased services.
Alerting passengers this far in advance, offering compensation and providing information about alternative travel routes will allow commuters to plan around the disruption and consider how they can make their journeys.
A reduction in services is necessary to accommodate all the extra passengers during the events, but it is positive that Southeastern is recognising the disruption this will create for regular commuters.
