Rail has fared relatively well recently.
Whilst there is still a question mark hanging over IEP – and all the work which would be needed if it went ahead – at least we have Crossrail and high speed, along with all of the Tube up-grades.
Let’s hope the government sees sense over IEP, realizing jus how many jobs (and votes) it would bring – especially in the north east.
Philip Hammond has been making a few promising noises about it, so let’s hope that it is enough to convince those holding the purse strings.
