The Secretary of State for Transport, Philip Hammond, has been told to “get a grip” on the snow which is affecting transport systems up and down the country.
Shadow Transport Secretary, Maria Eagle, accused the Government of “complacency” after estimates reveal the chaos caused by the snow costs the economy £1.2 billion a day.
Ms Eagle is obviously suffering from memory loss. I seem to remember the last government struggled to cope with heavy snow last winter.
