At last I have something good to say about the RMT… who have now seen sense over driver only operation.
This is good news for rail jobs and for Scottish rail in
general, because the two sides can move on – Scotrail to
run the new Airdrie to Bathgate line and the RMT to protect their members from the very real threats which still exist to their jobs in rail and working conditions.
Of course passenger safety is paramount, but seeing as though driver only operation takes place on other parts of the network – without any problems – why should it be an issue here?
