Whilst the government appears to be happy to continue developing plans for a high speed railway, the rest of the network’s future is far less certain.
In the last few weeks there have been two incidents of runaway trains, coupled with a headline on The Times website this morning according to which the refurbishment work to London Underground may be axed in the autumn spending review.
So, Mr Cameron, isn’t it time that you got Britain’s rail priorities right?
We need to protect what we have got, before venturing off into the wide blue yonder of high speed rail.
