You could say this about a lot of the people in the rail industry, but today I am referring to Tubes Lines and Transport for London.
The argument over funding confuses me a little, because usually someone names their price for a job and then you either accept that price or give the contract to someone else. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of PPP agreements, this was not possible.
It would therefore appear that New Labour’s attempt to cosy up to the private sector (along with PFI) has finally unravelled.
I suppose that we should be thankful that this incident hasn’t turned into another Metronet.
