It is heartening to see so much investment continuing to be poured into Britain’s railway network.
Although the ramifications of the credit crunch are bound to have some effect on the amount of money being spent on our railways, we will as an industry find a way out of this.
If it means pumping more money into the system from the train operators, then so be it.
We need our railways and our railways need us.
