The rail industry has fared well so far through the recession with only a handful of large companies going under a large percentage of the rail workforce generally faring quite well.
Once again I must also tip my hat to Mr Crow for winning Network Rail workers a pay rise – in the current economic situation that is a fair achievement. However, I wouldn’t anyone to think that I had gone soft, as I still disagree with him on the tube strikes.
Whilst rail workers must be protected, the way they work must be modernised.
