So on top of the 14,000 coalface jobs being created by Crossrail, we have another to add to the vacancy list – chief executive.
Rob Holden obviously has his reasons for stepping down, whether because of personality clashes and management style, or just a desire not to be shackled to the project for the best part of the next decade.
If he was going to go, it’s better now than later, so let’s wish him well and hope Crossrail finds a suitable successor sharpish.
