I, like many others in the rail industry, am now waiting with baited breath to
see how the new leader of Network Rail approaches his role.
The top rail job has gone to David Higgins, currently the chief executive of the Olympic Delivery Authority, who has recently courted controversy after the ODA refused to divulge the details of his bonus to a London newspaper.
All good practice for taking over Coucher’s role then I suppose…
Joking aside, Network Rail needs a strong leader and hopefully, given his performance at the ODA so far, Mr Higgins is set to do well in his new role.
