The government’s announcement that it is to invest £8b in rail has been welcomed almost every where but not in Wales.
Whilst routes in the north west will benefit from electrification, electrification to Swansea was not approved.
This will come as a massive blow as this investment is seen as being of crucial importance to the Welsh economy if it is to remain competitive against other parts of the UK.
