CrossCountry believe that the release of their new app, ‘Train Tickets’ will alleviate the stress of remembering that your ticket is always with you, and eliminate the need to pat your pockets to check.
Its true that people are more likely to have their phone to hand at all times, rather than an easily lost paper ticket.
But panicking about forgetting important items is fairly well ingrained into our day to day lives. The addition of a new app will not automatically solve that.
Apart from being unsure about whether you downloaded the app correctly, bought the right ticket, have enough battery charged, there is a new fear in remembering to take your phone with you.
Instead of checking their purses, people will be checking their pockets to ensure they have their phone, containing the all-important ticket. Unfortunately it is more than likely that our worries will be transferred in this way, rather than disappearing, regardless of the technological advances we engage with.
