As an industry we face testing times at the moment, but it is important to remember that the only way that we will survive is by working as a team.
This means staying calm, keeping your mind focus on the big picture instead of getting involved in petty arguments with each other.
Fights between management and workers get us nowhere, as the constant strikes being held over rail job conditions attest to. As the old adage goes: you cannot please all of the people all of the time.
Therefore we must remember that the war is out there, not in here with us and that only by combining our efforts will in the end succeed. We need to take our time, double check everything we do and ensure that we deliver excellence in whatever we do.
