I was elated to hear that passenger numbers are rising on intercity services and that in some cases, this had led to a doubling of usage.
Any increase in passenger usage is good for the environment, good for rail jobs and the rail industry as a whole.
We must continue to build upon this success and not let things like the spending review get in our way.
