The sum of £1,000 has been agreed for rail surveyors to access the land on which HS2 will be built. This does not include damages or any loss that they might suffer from the work.
Obviously later developments will incur a high level of disruption to these residents, but at the moment, checking and assessing habitats, wildlife and plants is not going to have a significant effect.
Should they be awarded such a large amount now? Many will consider it as ongoing compensation for the interference they are set to undergo, against their wishes, as well as breaching their privacy.
