Following the chancellor’s budget last week all I seem to
have heard is unions whining about spending cuts.
The real shame is that the union’s vitriol has been given an increased intensity by the fact that it is now a Conservative chancellor who is making the cuts.
The irony is that it was not George Osborne who put the country in the economic mess that it is now – it was the
party which is now taking so much joy in criticising the
every move of the coalition in dealing with a problem which they created.
As for investment in rail, train operating companies are
crying out to be given more freedom to invest in services
and to take greater control of our railways – so what is all
the fuss about?
