Sir Moir Lockhead has questioned the prospect of having a number of foreign governments running large parts of our railway system and I can certainly see that may be a conflict of interest, given that they also run their own rail companies.
It is not ideal when much of one country’s essential transport infrastructure is being operated by another country’s government.
There should be British based companies strong enough to take on the challenge on their own.
However, as Sir Moir says, there is currently no direct evidence of this conflict yet, so it is a case of wait and see...
