Yesterday saw rail taking quite a battering, with passengers generally coming off worse, as the level of fares is to increase.
However, it could have been so much worse and the government’s promise to sustain projects such as Crossrail is very encouraging.
As Mr Osborne intimated, whilst the next few years may be difficult, we will get there in the end… hopefully, anyway.
