It is fantastic to see that Network Rail is taking the need for refurbishment of Britain’s rail stations seriously, even appointing a new manager to head up the project.
But at a time when the organisation is facing mounting criticism over proposals to cut around 1,500 maintenance
rail jobs, it is unlikely that the appointment of yet another manager will be welcomed in some quarters.
Although I am not usually the biggest supporter of Mr Crow and the rest of the RMT gang, I believe that they could have
a justified grievance in this case.
It will be interesting to see how long it takes them to make an announcement on the matter or whether they will bother at all…
