It is hard to imagine exactly what the RMT and TSSA believe that they can achieve by lobbying government on rail job
cuts.
The decision has already been made by the ORR and with
the economy being in rather the sorry state that it is, I doubt that the government is likely to give in to union demands.
Which brings me back to why they are doing this. Publicity
for publicity’s sake perhaps?
