Well, perhaps I may have to eat my words.
It would seem as if Bob Crow might have actually managed
to get the government to reconsider their stance on rail jobs cuts.
Yesterday we found out that the ORR was due to investigate the safety implications of those rail job cuts and is due to report back.
In this case, I hope that Bob Crow does succeed.
Obviously if the ORR find that making around 2000 rail job cuts would make our network unsafe, then that will have made all of the fuss which Mr Crow has been making over the last few months worth it.
However, if it is simply a pre-election ploy by the government and its agencies to sweeten up the unions, then both sides could end up with egg on their chin.
