I was heartened to hear that rail managers at Scotrail had decided that they would not be thwarted by union attempts
to disrupt rail services.
It seems that lessons have been learned from the experience of First Capital Connect and that finally a train operator is refusing to be held to ransom over rail union requests.
It would seem however that the issue of rail job losses at Network Rail will not go away as TSSA have begun voting
on proposed strike action.
However, given that the government is already reinvestigating the safety implications of the proposed 1500 rail job losses at Network Rail with a view to perhaps lesson the impact on rail jobs, this extra strike seems to lack a point.
Or perhaps TSSA members just fancy having a few extra days off over the Easter break…
