Network Rail has begun a renewed attack on those who misuse level crossing in an effort to bring down the number of casualties which result from misuse.
However there has been criticism of Network Rail in Scotland, where the Rail Accident Investigation Branch has found that many level crossings are ‘unsafe’, because they had no barriers and only lights to warn people of on coming trains.
The answer to this seems simple to me, because there is a very real need and demand for action to be taken over non-barrier level crossings.
So why don’t we take the opportunity to create a few rail jobs, whilst making our railways completely safe?
Then the idiots who continue to misuse level crossings will have no excuse.
