Today we hear that even the rail unions are selling off their assets- in their case because they cannot afford to look
after them, which is sad.
A bit of rail union history has gone in the sale of ASLEF’s headquarters and as usual it is someone else who will make the profit on that sale.
I wonder whether it is the same with the Arriva sale to the German government; a British business does well, manages to weather the financial storm and then is sold off so that someone else can keep the profits instead of them going
back into British economy.
