There are certainly a lot of promises being made to the rail industry at the moment.
On one side, we have the Conservatives promising to support Crossrail and high speed rail and on the other we have the government promising all that and a major station modernisation programme.
But not straight away… not before the election, of course.
Basically they think that they can bribe you with these ‘carrots’, thinking that you will believe that as soon as either wins the election, that a magic wand will be waved and all things rail can be perfect.
Of course, this will not happen.
We should vote for the party who we think will do the best for the country as a whole, not just one who makes empty promises in an effort to secure their hold on power.
So be careful; don’t be bought off with cheap trinkets which don’t even exist yet.
