I think sometimes it is easy to forget that the rail industry, in
its current form is still relatively new.

It has not even been twenty years since the system was privatised and in that time the industry has progressed at a pace.

Although there are areas of our rail services which deserve criticism, there are parts which have achieved great things; the fact that we can now travel from Manchester to London in around two hours is fantastic.

And as a regular passenger on the West Coast Mainline, I
can safely say that services, on the whole are satisfactory.
