I was saddened to hear about the possible loss of even more jobs in rail at London Underground. If the RMT’s revelations are true then it would be a sad blow to the rail industry.
However, I do feel that the RMT could have been a little more tactful, rather than plunging every tube worker in the capital into doubt about whether they will have a rail job in a few months or not.
Of course it is important that rail workers are represented by unions. However I do wonder what difference the RMT ranting about rail job losses is really going to do. Is it going to save rail jobs?
I doubt it.
