The company responsible for a large percentage of the
rolling stock used on Britain’s railways has appointed a new member to its management team.
Matthias Schlelein has been given the role of finance
director of the company’s rolling stock division. When Matthias takes up his new rail job, he will be joining
managing director Steve Scrimshaw, along with service director Steve White and global accounts Director David Wilson.
Gordon Wakeford, Managing Director Siemens Mobility, commented:
“The UK rail industry is highly complex and continues to experience significant challenges. Matthias’ will work
closely with Steve Scrimshaw and the senior management team to help shape the company’s commercial strategy and approach.”
Matthias began his rail career in 1996 and prior to this he studied business administration in both the US and Germany.
His previous jobs in rail include a stint at Siemens rolling stock division in Germany. Matthias has also had a job at defence company EADS.
