Guess what… the rail industry is going to be hit today by further industrial action.
This time workers at Virgin Trains ticket stations throughout the land are striking over plans to reduce ticket office
opening times, whilst increasing the number of ticket machines available at stations.
Obviously one can sympathise with workers who are nervous, given the current the economic situation, that their jobs could be at risk from further use of machines.
However, inconveniencing passengers is probably not the way to resolve this issue and in fact it will probably make the situation worse, because ironically all of the passengers will have to use ticket machines instead!
