First there was MPs expenses. Now we have ex-Cabinet ministers offering themselves like ‘taxis for hire’.
Although Mr Byers’ claims have been disputed by both Lord Adonis and National Express, they cast a dark shadow over politics.
After all, even if Mr Byers did not have the power to
influence these kinds of decision, he was selling himself as
if he had; as if it was acceptable in his eyes to influence government for financial gain.
And he used to be transport secretary. If anyore of the government is made of people with such a blatant lack of integrity, then we are all in trouble.
