There seems to be no end of fights in the rail industry currently.
Whether it be the between the train operators and their ticketing staff, or between Tube Lines and Transport for London, all this animosity cannot be good for anyone concerned.
This arguing divides the industry, driving away passengers and further investment, because people do not see it as
being stable.
Take for example the problems facing First Capital Connect;
a train operating company which until very recently was nearly totally lacking in train drivers!
Does this inspire confidence in the public and investors?
I think not.
However, it is not all bad. The RMT has called for Tube Lines to be taken under direct control of Mayor Boris Johnson.
Now given that even Boris’s own hair does not appear to be under his control, I am eternally glad that this is not the case. Huzzah!
