Despite my ranting prediction that the entire UK would come to a halt yesterday, ATOC has reported that nearly 80 per cent of rail services ran on time.
This could only have been down to the great work which
you did in your rail jobs yesterday, whether that be engineering work on the tracks or serving customers coffee on board the train.
Given the Arctic conditions which Britain faced yesterday, this is truly a great achievement and went a long way to prove that rail really is a form of transport which can be
relied upon when road transport and aviation come to a standstill.
Keep up the good work!
